I am originally from Dublin but I moved to Carlow in September 2015. I have a level 6 award in Early Years Care and Education (Montessori and Pedagogy). I am in the middle of my studies for my degree in early years care and Education at night in Carlow IT.
I teach the Junior Montessori class. In our room the children build up their vocabulary, work on their gross and fine motor skills and learn more about themselves and the word around them.
All you have too do is look around my room and you will see how much I like to draw and print Everything on my walls has been done by my wonderful children or by myself.
I have a Fetac Level 5 & 6 in Early Childhood Education and Care. Currently I am in my final year of my honours degree in Early Childhood Education and Care. I am the room leader in the Playgroup Room. However, if you ask the children, they would say they were in charge! These children are learning about their personalities so every day I negotiate with them to try and get some work done. In the playgroup room we encourage fun and for the children to use their imaginations. So you never know what you are going to come in to. One day we would have a house from cardboard or be on a space ship to the moon. We bake cakes that would make Mary Berry proud to be shaking our booty at zumba!
My name is Danielle Mehon. I have a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education and Care. I also have a certificate in Paediatric First Aid.
I work in the Tweenie Room with Helen. Together our aim is creating a fun, positive environment for the children. At this age group these children are beginning to learn more about themselves and their personalities, so exploring EVERYTHING in the whole room is their main concern. Together, we all have great fun between baking organic foods (thanks, Helen) to rolling around in cardboard boxes and leaves outside in the autumn. What I love about the Tweenie Room is that no matter how bad a day can be, these kids will always put a smile on your face – or a slobbery kiss!
Hi, my name is Helen Demetriou but I still go by Helen Whelan because I am not used to the long spelling, yet! So, here is my story. I have a Fetac level 5 in Special Needs Assistance and level 6 childcare. I work in a great place called Little Trinity, in the Tweenie Room, with amazing children, where every day we explore and learn through our imagination, singing and actions song. In our room the children communicate with each other in their special, secret language, that us adults can’t even understand, making friendships that last a lifetime. Danielle and I together create a loving, safe environment for your precious children. Our aim is to create a home from home, giving protection, fun and hugs throughout the day. On a daily basis we cook, we bake and floor dance the day away. We love all seasons and learn about each one as they arrive upon our doorstep, from the summer sun to the beauty that is Autumn. Where the colourful leaves make outside play a new adventure, with collecting up the leaves with our buckets and spades, our room is filled with colour, art and lots of fun toys, trains, jigsaws and dolls for you to play with.
My name is Karen Mulhall. I am a qualified Montessori Teacher and have been for 10 years now. It has it’s ups and downs but I enjoy it and my wifey, Cleo always puts a smile on my face. In Montessori we enjoy dressing up, Montessori work, dressing up, nature walks looking for insects and spiders. We do enjoy circle time, especially when the children tell us all the stories about home at the weekend.
I have a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education and Care. I also have a certificate in Occupational First Aid. I work in the Montessori Room with Karen. Our room provides lots of fun, especially when I am in my happy-go-lucky humour! We are referred to as ‘Pinky and the Brain’. Karen’s got the brains and I’m the quirky one! Our little Van Goghs produce many works of arts which they are so proud of from Montessori work to dress up – there is so much that comes out of our little room!
